With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.

Your Pre-Order is prioritized (at no additional charge); meaning that as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up; ready for collection via Click & Collect or dispatch to you — it often never even hits the stock room shelves!

With Prelaunch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Preorders.

SHIPPING (Continental U.S.)

  • Orders usually ship one business day after being placed.
  • Please note that some items may be subject to additional shipping and handling charges because of size or weight.
  • Sorry, but we do not ship outside of the Continental U.S.

IN-STORE PICKUP

Most orders will be ready within one business day. Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time to transfer from off-site locations. Other items may require additional processing time for assembly. We will call or email you once your order is ready for pickup. If you need an item right away we ask that you call us to confirm that the product is available before heading over to our store. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders need to be picked up within 15 days or a 10% restocking fee will be charged.

INFORMATION SECURITY

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to "see" your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last five digits of your credit card numbers. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.

BACKORDERS

Occasionally, some items are unexpectedly out of stock or unavailable and may be backordered. If this should occur, we will only bill your credit card for merchandise that is actually shipped. The total shipping charge for orders split into multiple shipments will not exceed the amount quoted on original order.

RETURNS

We hope you love your purchase from Pete's Garage, but if you don't we'll make every effort to exchange or refund your purchase. Please see below for details of our return policy.

  • Full refunds or exchanges will be given only for items in their original unused condition with tags in place and within 30 days of purchase.
  • Returns must be accompanied by the original receipt or credit card used for purchase
  • Items with a gift receipt or without original receipt or proof of purchase will be returned for store credit
  • For items purchased online, return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility
  • Clothing items deemed to be defective may be sent directly to the manufacturer. We're happy to provide assistance with this process if needed
  • All returned bicycles and special order items (including items marked "in warehouse") will be subject to a 20% restocking fee
  • Closeout items, final sale items, and demo or used items may not be returned.

The Crankbrothers candy is an iconic pedal designed by Carl and Frank, the original founders of crankbrothers, they were tired of getting stuck in mud-covered pedals with no way in or out.

They realized that existing pedals were too complicated. It started with a simple question: what is the best way to attach a shoe to a crank? to answer this question, carl and frank created a system with only two moving parts hinging on a spring. this system became known as the eggbeater pedal, and later it was adapted into the candy pedal.

The candy is really diverse and is used by a wide range of riders. we have seen them out on the trail, at cyclocross races and even on commuter bikes. The cage around the 4 point engagement system inspires confidence and offers a great alternative to the eggbeater pedal if you want more of a pedal body surface area.

The trade up from level 1 pedals is the 2 piece machined aluminum pedal body and increased warranty to 5 years.

You can customize the fit and feel of your pedal using crankbrothers tread contact sleeves (crb-13282). these shims come with 3 different thicknesses enabling the rider to ensure good contact between their shoes and the pedal axle (as the tread wears down the contact can move away from the axle and onto the wings of the pedal).

As with the rest of the crankbrothers range the pedals are fully serviceable with a level 1 / 2 service kit (product code crb-11729). servicing is simple and does not require any specialist tools, just a flat head screwdriver, socket wrench and 0.3 inch allen key to hold the pedal by the axle. It is recommended that the pedal is cleaned and greased every 30 hours of riding and the bearings are inspected for wear.
